Prison Donations
We are honored to participate with others in providing donations to prisons. (At this time, we are only able to do this for prisons in the state of Florida.) Many people in society think that those who are incarcerated are provided everything which is needed through prison budgets, but this is not the case. For example, ALL recreation equipment used in Florida prisons comes solely from donations. And, unlike what is often shone in movies, you will not find expensive weight piles and other similar equipment on the prison yards. In fact, in the state of Florida, workout weights are not allowed in prisons at all.
It is important for there to be recreation opportunities for the men and women who are incarcerated, i.e. soccer, football, basketball, softball, etc. This is good therapy: physically, mentally, and emotionally.

In most (but not all) cases, you can provide either new or used equipment (if that which is used is in good condition).
We are not held strictly to providing only recreation equipment. Classes need computers, libraries need books, chapels need books, DVD’s, and other equipment, and these are just some examples of where and what the needs are.
Our goal is to provide this assistance to prisons throughout the state. If you have a particular prison that you wish to provide aid to, contact us and we will work with you to make this happen. There is a process we must go through, starting with contacting the Assistant Warden of Programs at that institution and seeking permission. There is also a donation form we will have to use (you can see one of these forms below and download/copy it).
